Olen Gunnlaugson
Olen Gunnlaugson, Ph.D. is an Assistant Professor in leadership and organizational development within the Department of Management at Université Laval, in Quebec City, Canada. Among other current projects, he is co-developing an MBA micro program in Complexity Studies, Consciousness and Leadership with colleagues and is chief editor of an upcoming business book, Perspectives on Theory U: Insights from the Field. This anthology is comprised of research, reflections and practical applications by 25 faculty members and associates from organizational contexts in North America and Europe who are currently working with Otto Scharmer's Theory U.
Olen increasingly brings a multidisciplinary background to his work, which has been published across peer-reviewed academic journals and presented at numerous international conferences. Currently one of his main research interests focuses on collective intelligence approaches to leadership or what is sometimes referred to as the "we-space" in integral contexts. Part of this inquiry connects to the question of what individual, group and community-based methodologies are useful in bringing about transformative experiences of coming together for evolutionary and organizational learning purposes? Other related questions leading his work presently include: what embodied practices of awareness and being facilitate significant intersubjective shifts in groups? How do groups and individuals access deeper states for the purposes of engaging in collective intelligence processes of bringing forth new knowledge, insight and change?
