I know, I know...it's Wednesday and we already have a weekly music blog of sorts. But I just couldn't resist. These girls are just too good.
I heard this sister duo from Muscle Shoals, Alabama - the Secret Sisters - on the CBC this morning, and hell, weren't they extraordinary. And I’m not alone. Their debut album was produced by T. Bone Burnett, and they’ve even recorded a couple of songs with Jack White.
In contrast to much of the ‘new country’ sound shilled by Nashville these days that hides behind production tricks and endless fine tuning, these young ladies offer us something far more honest and sincere; something in short supply these days.
And here's a little taste of the Jack White stuff...a cover of Johnny Cash no less!
