An Amalgamation of Internet Speculations About the Future

Written by

The discussion following a piece I posted a couple of weeks ago about a machine that makes anything you want got into the subject of the continuing development of new technology, wondering where it'll all go.

The following is from XKCD: A Webcomic of Romance, Sarcasm, Math and Language. In this instance, it's a list of the results of google searches looking for predictions of where our world is going, in regards to technology, population trends, climate change, economics and much else.

Also, if you hold the cursor over a given comic strip on XKCD, there's a sort of easter egg from the writer. This particular one says there were thousands of versions of pretty much the same hysterical rant for any year he inputted, saying "By the year _____, white people will be a minority in the US/Britain!!!"

Thanks to Dave Edis for turning me on to this site. And check out their other stuff too - it's consistently funny and insightful.
