Today launches our first ever topic-themed month in the history of Beams and Struts. This month we're taking a peak into parenting.
Here is a TED talk by husband and wife team Rufus Griscom and Alisa Volkman. The two created Babble.com, a site "for a new generation of parents".
They talk about four taboos of parenting. I really appreciate how they merge both humor (watch for the hilarious pop quiz for dad) and sadness/heartache into the piece. Taboos like: loneliness, miscarriage, not necessarily totally completely 100% falling in love with your child at the first look upon them, and whether or not parents are happier after the birth of children.
